Privacy Policy

The Engineers Network is built on a simple promise: your data is yours. We are consent-based — we never scrape third-party sources and we never sell personal data. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, to sign you in and send messages you ask for.
- Profile: details you choose to add (discipline, city, institution, employer, goals).
- Verification: your own engineering registration number, only to verify you — a single self-initiated lookup.
- Content: anything you post (salary entry, mentorship, squads, announcements, pledges).
- Usage: minimal session data needed to keep you signed in and secure.
We do not scrape LinkedIn, WhatsApp, public portals, or any third party to build profiles.
How we use it
To run the platform: match you to opportunities, compute anonymised benchmarks, log CPD, and send only the messages you have consented to. Notifications are opt-in; partner/sponsor offer notifications are off by default and require your explicit consent.
Security
Sign-in is passwordless (a one-time magic link) — we store no passwords. Contact details and other personal fields are encrypted at rest. Access is scoped so you only ever see your own data.
Sharing
- We never sell your personal data.
- Aggregated, anonymised statistics only — salary benchmarks appear only once 20+ engineers contribute; advertiser analytics are counts only and never identify an individual.
- Business-to-business introductions (company leads) are between companies, and contact details are exchanged only after both sides accept.
- Service providers (email delivery, hosting) process data solely on our behalf.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can export or permanently delete all of your data at any time from your profile, and withdraw any consent whenever you like.
Third-party links
Opportunities, institution announcements, and sponsored content link to third-party sites governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
